Exploring Habitats
This term, in Science, Year 4 are learning all about Animals and Habitats.
This week was all about minibeasts. The children discussed where we may find minibeasts in the school and what would attract them to those areas.
The children then proceeded to go on a minibeast hunt but not before having a very important conversation about caring for the environment and treating all of the minibeasts kindly (even the scary ones!).
The children ticked the minibeasts off their list and even added on minibeasts that did not feature on the list.
They also noted where they found the different minibeasts and considered what this implies about their preferred habitats.
Back in class, the children used all of the information collected to sort and classify the minibeast found using either Carroll, Venn, or Tree Diagrams.
