Readers' Theatre

This month we have been looking at the poem anthology 'Hot Like Fire' by Valerie Bloom. Today, the children had a chance to perform some of the poems we have been looking at.

 Many of the poems are written in a Jamaican dialect, featuring Jamaican Patois words. The children worked on creating a glossary to support their understanding of the poems. We also spoke about the importance of reading poems in their mother tongue to keep the integrity, rhyme and rhythm.
