Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Year One created some group poems describing the characteristics of the Queen after learning about her life and service. We learnt so much about her achievements and the qualities of a leader.

We then learnt about the unusual gifts which the Queen has received in the last 70 years and wrote sentences to explain our reasoning for the gifts which we would give on this special occasion.

We then created striking portraits by drawing different images which represent the Queen and her life. Which symbols can you identify?

 At lunchtime, we celebrated with the whole school and enjoyed a picnic lunch outside. It was a wonderful day!
