Culture Week in Nursery
We have been celebrating different cultures from all over the world this week in Nursery. Many of our parents volunteered to come in to read stories in different languages, show the traditional outfits or tell us about traditional games and songs. The children had a fantastic time learning lots from the parents about Russia, Taiwan, Poland, China and Mexico. Earlier in the week, we danced the Haka from New Zealand and Samba from Brazil. We even painted with Italian spaghetti!
A highlight of the week involved walking barefoot through sensory trays of rice, leaves and even baked beans! We were thinking about those children in the world less fortunate than ourselves who can't afford shoes.
We ended the week on a high with an outdoor carnival, celebrating the diversity of cultures in EYFS at St Andrew's. We ate traditional foods and spent the whole day dancing!
