Family Learning Week

During Family Learning Week this year, parents joined Year 6 for their English lessons where they were focusing on reading as a writer.  The children are currently working on a text by Carol Ann Duffy, entitled ‘The Princess Blankets’.  This week, Year 6 have been considering the vocabulary and language used to describe each blanket.  They tried to imagine what they looked like from the descriptions and have been thinking about the atmosphere that the author was trying to create.  With the help of their parents, Year 6 made visual representations of the Mountain, Forest, Earth and Ocean blankets.
