Fitzwilliam Museum
This week we visited Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge to explore the lives and believes of the ancient Egyptians.
We spent the morning looking at and exploring various artefacts some of which included: ancient sarcophagus, wooden coffins, daily objects, for example a mirror, bowls, cups, jewellery. It was fascinating to discover that Ancient Egyptians believed in afterlife and how they mummified bodies after death.
The afternoon was spent in the armoury room where we looked closely at various weapons from the 15th and 16th century. We had a chance to design our own armour and shield. After that, we ventured into the pottery room looking at a wide selection of cups, teapots, bowls, and various sculpture, some of which were made in the 20th century.
