Free verse poems

Today, in small groups, the children experimented with creating a free verse poem about the noise they would hear on the road outside school, using vocabulary and presentation for effect whilst thinking about how the poem would be performed by the reader. Particularly, the children considered onomatopoeic words, e.g. swoosh!
