Grow your own
The planting, caring for, harvesting and process in fruit and vegetables has always been a big part of my life, particularly when I was little. Even when I didn't have a garden, I would grow things on my kitchen window sill. It really makes you feel connected to and part of nature.
This is not to say that I am particularly green fingered. I have definitely not inherited the skills my father's skills. (Below is a photo of my dad in the vegetable garden at my childhood home)However, like any other skill, you need to keep trying and learn from your mistakes.

Things do seem to be going a bit better this year. Maybe it is because we are all around to look after and water things.
The BBC TV show, Gardener's World, is asking for people to send in videos of their gardens. This week there were two really inspiring gardeners. One a really enthusiastic little girl who was growing seedlings for her community and another was a gardener who explained how to gather your own seeds. (You can view the programme on BBC iplayer Gardener's World, 2020 Episode 9)
Are you growing any vegetables or fruits at the moment? Could you give it a go? Maybe you could gather your own seeds like the lady in the programme. I would love to see your efforts on the school Facebook page.
