Into The Weddell Sea

Shackleton's expedition was full of danger and difficulty. At one point, the Endurance had to push its way through packed ice.

We wrote poems describing what the experience might have been like.

Here are some of the lines taken from our poems.

The Endurance, miniscule compared to the sprawling ocean, shoved its way through the confusing jigsaw of ice.

Invincible ice, which peers angrily at us as we struggle through.

A fretful crew, who brace themselves every time they ricochet off the immense ice patches.

Vital engines silenced, our hopes vanished, our strong ship overpowered.
