Investigating Shadows in Science

As part of our continuing explorations as scientists, Year One looked at shadows today and how to create and alter them using a variety of light sources.

The children worked in teams to investigate the shadows cast by a variety of objects  in order to answer our enquiry question:  what happens to a shadow when you move the light source closer?    The lesson culminated in a shadow puppet show where light effects were used to explore shadow shape and depth.  Excellent learning Year One!
