Jubilee Fun

Year 3 started Jubilee Day by listening to the music that was playing in Westminster Abbey during the coronation in 1953. We created a giant 70 for the window, made from Union Jacks the children had collaged previously. Year 3 hope you have had a chance to look closely at how they turned out.

In Maths Year 3  have been learning about time and so had a look at the queen's daily routine, guessing the time she rises in the morning, heads for her office, takes a stroll round the palace gardens and stops for a cuppa and a slice of Dundee cake. Many guessed the queen gets up at 7am and retires to her bed at 11pm.

After enjoying the 'street party' lunch, Year 3 looked at commissioned portraits of the queen and had a go at creating their own. There was even time to squeeze in a quick quiz. Do you know how many corgis the queen has owned since she was a child?
