Learning about inequality symbols (< and >) in Year 1
Year 1 have been learning how to use inequality symbols when comparing numbers, first with the same amount of tens, and then any numbers under 100.
We have practised a lot as the abstract symbols are quite tricky for some of us to understand and remember.
Today we played a game with a dice and base 10 equipment, making 2-digit numbers and then agreeing which symbol we needed when comparing the numbers. We are definitely a lot more confident than we were the first time we learned about these symbols, but more practice is probably needed!
