Today, Year One began their materials topic in Science and explored the various properties and characteristics of wood, metal, glass and plastic.  What is shiny but not metal?  Why are smooth objects sometimes made of metal?  What are some good uses of plastics?  These and further questions will be explored as the topic progresses this term.
