Mayan Art

This term, our art work has been centred around the Mayan way of life. We began by creating a fabric banner. We used our printing and sewing skills to present our views about the way Mayans lived. Some of us created an abstract piece of work portraying farming life, while others created work showing the importance Mayans place on astronomy.  

Our second piece of art was based on the way in which Mayans used shape and imagery on their clothes to show their values. 

We created pieces of jewellery, using our clay moulding skills, to represent our personal values. We used the Mayan style of drawing to develop them.
