Mini-beast Habitats

As part of our science topic, animals and their habitats, we created mini-beast homes in our outdoor area. We thought about the features that a habitat would need- damp and shady for some creatures and sunny and dry for others. We also considered safety from predators. Once we had decided where to place our different mini-beast habitats, we moved into teams to begin building them. We used bark, straw, leaves, bamboo for shelter from predators and pine cones to attract ladybirds. We even created structures for spiders to make their webs on. We look forward to welcoming lots of mini-beasts in the coming weeks!
