Nursery visit Shepreth Wildlife Park

Recently, our Nursery classes visited Shepreth Wildlife Park.  Despite the challenges to travel there by train, we had two wonderful trips.  We enjoyed watching the cheeky meerkats, noisy otters and parrots and visiting the bats and Bunnyland.  Unfortunately though, not much sign of the tigers which caused some disappointment (especially for Mrs Knappert!).  After walking the park, children had a well-earned rest and lunch, playing on the pirate ship and castle, before our workshop about Minibeasts.  Throughout the day, children’s behaviour was fantastic, responding so positively to whatever was needed - they are a credit to our school and families.  Well done, everyone!

A huge thank you to our parent volunteers that came with us as well, we really could not have done the trips without you and hope you enjoyed the day out too.  It’s also worth mentioning that Hitchin rail station went above and beyond to get our morning class to Shepreth when our train was cancelled by providing a minibus and driver.  They also ensured our afternoon class could travel safely to and from Shepreth by providing staff to accompany us.
