Our Monastic Medieval Gardens

For our first history lesson this term we had great fun researching and then designing our own medieval gardens. We found out what the Carmelite Monks might have grown in their gardens at the Hitchin Priory and then used natural materials to design our own gardens in a similar style. We were very proud of our results!

We have also planted some herbs that we know the monks would have grown in their garden and used to create remedies. We are having a herb race! Who's herbs will grow the quickest? Watch this space!
