Outdoor Learning Week
Outdoor Learning Week gave Nursery the perfect opportunity to explore our wonderful forest area to collect natural materials. We challenged children to use their finding in a creative and imaginative way - they made crowns, belts, journey sticks, collage pictures etc. Children demonstrated curiosity and wonder in our natural environment.
We also engaged in some outdoor maths by completing number grids with natural materials. This created lots of excitement to see how many different kinds of materials we could find in our EYFS outdoor environment.
We even had time to visit our school pond - this was the highlight of the week for us as we discovered so many exciting creatures - newts, pondscaters, dragonfly larvae and water spiders!
A perfect introduction to our new theme, Minibeasts, next half-term.
Kind regards,
Mrs Knappert, Nursery Teacher
