Outdoor Maths

Year 1 went outside to practise maths today. We were learning to understand the meaning of '1 less'.  We were given a number and then had to find one less than that number from any of the resources in the Silver Birches.

We counted leaves, twigs, feathers and the odd flower. It was a good way of understanding and then remembering what '1 less' means.

We were challenged to find one less than 1 and this is what happened!
