Possessive Apostrophes

We have been learning all about possessive apostrophes. We had a really exciting time meeting real life corn snakes and we used this experience to write about all of the things that the corn snakes possessed. 

We also identified the difference between a possessive apostrophe and an apostrophe that is used for a contraction.

Which sentence below uses an apostrophe for a contraction and which one uses an apostrophe for possession?

Quickly the corn snake's tail wrapped itself around the skinny, grey branch. 

He didn't want to let go as he was worried that a predator was waiting beneath him.
