RE Week - Sikhism

This week we have been learning about Sikhism. We have explored the story of Vaisakhi and learnt how the Sikh religion started. This led on to learning about the different celebrations Sikhs participate in, including Vaisakhi parades for the new year and Diwali.

We had a visit from Mrs Shergill who taught us even more about the religion. She explained that Sikhism originated in India and Guru Nanak is the creator. He was a very kind man. Sikhs pray in a Gudwara and listen to songs whilst they pray. Mrs Shergill shared her Sikh bracelet which is part of the Sikh 5 k's. The bracelet means 'One Whole Universe'.
