Rabbi Celia visits Year One

Today Year one welcomed Rabbi Celia to help us dig deeper into our explorations of the Jewish faith. 

 Rabbi Celia explained to the children some of the rituals and ceremonies around prayers said at the Shabbat, in the morning and the evening and when ;passing the Mezuzah.  She was very impressed with the children's knowledge and understanding of the Shema and how they linked their understandings of Jewish beliefs to their own Christian beliefs.    The children particularly enjoyed the singing of the Shalom blessing and the significance of the 7 bands of the Tefillin.
