Remembrance Day
Using a beautiful story of 'Where the Poppies now Grow', the children wrote poems in remembrance of the local soldiers who fought in WW1.
The names of the soldiers came from the Hitchin Memorial and it was a touching moment when those poems where shared in the class. Year 3 children showed that they are not only great poets, but they also respect the history.
In Art, we had a go at making clay poppies. As it turned out, we needed to be very patient in order to make the poppies looking realistic!
