SPIRALS SPIRALS!

Year 6 have been exploring mathematics in art and nature and finding out that spirals aren't as straightforward as we first thought.

Here is a lovely baravelle spiral created by the very careful measuring and halving of triangles. We also explored and created archimedian spirals discovered by the Greek mathematician Archimedes and Fibonacci spirals. As you can see below we put together some lovely pieces of work to display in the classroom.
