Science week

This week, year 5 carried out a wide range of interesting scientific activities. 

We began by setting up an investigation to do with germination. We were sure that seeds needed water and warmth to begin to germinate. However, we were divided about if they would germinate more readily in the light or dark. We used cress seeds to set up a fair test. 

Later in the week, we used secondary sources to find out about the scientist, Jane Goodall. We learnt about her most important discoveries and how she went about making them.

Finally, we used our engineering skills to make 3D models of birds using ONLY paper and scissors.
