The life of a Mayan in print

Our art this term has been linked to the our autumn term history project on the Mayans. 

With the expert support of Mrs Howard, we designed and printed a two colour design using polystyrene tiles to show what we thought an aspect of Mayan life would be like. 

Some children selected the difficulty and hard work around the farming methods. Others choose to think about how clever and awe inspiring their knowledge of astronomy would have been. 

In addition to printing, we also highlighted various aspects of our tiles using embroidery stitches. We learnt new stitches such as chain stitch.
