Traditional Tales

To begin this year we are learning about Traditional tales in Literacy. We are looking at the vast array of traditional tales and learning exactly what traditional tales means. 
The children are particularly excited about our new role play castle! But, a great big giant has left a foot print on our floor!
The children received a letter from the giant explaining that he left his foot print so we could see whether our feet were the same size as his! No chance - we managed to fit 6 CHILDREN in his one foot print!
We have explored measuring using manipulatives to find out how long our feet are, some of the children have even compared the difference between different manipulatives! Also we have begun to measure the length of our bodies! Working together to cut string to our correct length - measuring with our choice of items!
