We love the book area!

This week, the nursery children have shown a huge interest in our book area! Inspired by Miss Farrant's new books on display (that we've previously shared during story time), the book area has been busy, busy, busy!

We particularly enjoy the shape stories (by Mac Barnett & Jon Klassen) at the moment which have also helped us during our Maths sessions - we're so good at recognising our simple 2D shapes now :) It's lovely hearing the children retelling the stories themselves and recalling some of the funny key moments/phrases in their own way... "Triangle has got sneaky eyes!" "Square is going to get stuck in the door..."

We're also learning how to use the illustrations to help us 'read' the story... 'Stick Man' and 'The Three Little Pigs' have been brilliant at supporting us with this.
