We're going on a rock survey...

As part of our science learning, Year 3 undertook a rock survey in Hitchin. We looked at very old buildings such as St Mary's Church to see if they gave us any hints as to what the bedrock in this area is. We also  looked at where rock had been used in our town and tried to work out why different types of rock were used for specific purposes, eg slates for roofs and granite for paving stones.
